My favorite song from Fall Out Boy would be I Don’t Care. I like it because it gives me the nerve to ignore negative comments no matter how painful. What other people think or say about me doesn’t matter as long as I’m doing the right thing. Silly and obnoxious words can’t stop me. I used to have a really low self-esteem, but this song helped me.

This Music Monday brings to the table Quitedrive. Their debut album, When All That’s Left Is You, was a pop-punk CD made in heaven. Streaming above is “Maybe Misery” which is what sold me. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Music Monday #4

I have quite the ear for catchy pop-punk when summer weather strikes. Nothing seems more fitting at the moment than The Maine. Streaming above is “Girls Do What They Want” off their album, Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop. Expect some new stuff from them this year.

Matt Watcher (of Angels and Airwaves) and his wife Libby welcomed their first child, Sailor Mae Wachter, this past Thursday at 5:55pm. “To say it was the happiest day of our lives would truly be an understatement!”

Music Monday #3

It’s horrible news to find out that your debut full length has leaked six months before its scheduled release. Acceptance accepted it though. Their debut, Phantoms, shook the music industry. Streaming above is “Take Cover” from the album. It’s by far the strongest track, hands down. Unfortunantly, their debut was their only full length release before they broke up in 2006. It’s such a shame to see great bands like them only stay in the “game” for one album.

Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy) and Cassadee Pope (Hey Monday) will be making an appearance in the new Degrassi movie, Degrassi Goes Hollywood. They will be playing the role of themselves and appear in the movie when one of the Degrassi characters spots them while walking down a street.

Music Monday #2

Self Against City is one of those bands that had great potential, but never made it there. It’s a shame. Their debut full-length album, Telling Secrets to Strangers, is composed of a lot of energy and catchy hooks. Streaming above is the first track off the album, “Becoming A Monster.” The vibe it gives off is pricelss and sets the mood for the rest of the album. I hope these guys come back from their hiatus soon.
