Music Monday #23
Streaming is "Memory" by Sugarcult. The track is off their fourth album, Palm Trees and Power Lines. Whenever I hear this song I think of the lust and love I had in my younger days. Whenever I "liked someone" this was my theme song... This may never start. We could fall apart and I'd be your memory. No other song seems more fitting for the feeling.

Music Monday #22
Streaming is a newly released song from The Academy Is... called "Sputter." The song appears on their new EP, Lost in Pacific Time, which comes out tomorrow. What makes this song perfect for "Music Monday" is that it features Andrew McMahon from Jack's Mannequin/Something Corporate. Rarely do two such great artists collaborate in this industry... it's a great thing to see/hear.

September 20, 2009Gabe Saporta Is An Overnight Sensation
It appears to be that Gabe Saporta (Cobra Starship) has teamed up with Glamour Kills to produce a clothing line called "Overnight Sensation." It also appears that some viral marketing is in progress to support it. The website www.theovernightsensation.com has been setup and is registered by Gabe himself. The most recent update to the site includes a video where at the end it directs you to www.welc0metothenewhate.com. The most recent update to this site depicts a picture of Gabe wearing another "Overnight Sensation" shirt and at the bottom includes a sign-up link that says "I would sign up if I were you... first come first serve." Free t-shirts? Who knows... this is just the best guess to all of this.

September 16, 2009Fall Out Boy In The Studio?
Is Fall Out Boy recording something? A new album? An EP? Who knows. All that is known is Pete Wentz was spotted walking to a recording studio in LA yesterday wearing a disguise and carrying an envelope that said "Doctor's orders - Wake up, try on your new disguise. Would they recognize you anyway?" To further add fuel to the fire, Andy Hurley twittered yesterday that he had finished recording. And to top it all off, Joe Trohman twittered earlier today that he will be recording new songs tomorrow. So what's going on? I have no idea, but everything's pointing in the right direction...

September 12, 2009SupJustin's Birthday Contest
SupJustin.com turns one year old this Monday. To celebrate, I will be giving away FOURTEEN autographed CDs during 7 hours. This is how it's going to work... I will be giving away a different CD exactly every half an hour starting at 12pm PST till 7pm PST. Pretty sweet, right? But there's a catch... you can only enter to win the CD during that half an hour that it's up until the next CD goes up. So for example, let's say you check the site at 3pm and want to enter to win a CD that was posted at 1pm, you can't. You'll only be able to enter the current CD giveaway at the moment and all future ones, pending you enter during the first 30mins it's up. Get it? The autographed CDs that I will be giving away will remain secret until each one is posted... but trust me, these CDs I will be giving away are from some of todays most popular bands... and even a few classics will be thrown in. Details of how to enter the contest will be posted on Monday. You aren't going to want to miss this because if you do, you'll probably regret it. The fun begins at 12pm PST on Monday @ SupJustin.com ... see you then.

September 7, 2009Music Monday #20
Streaming is the most beautiful song I have ever heard. Ever. It's not your typical song... not at all. It's an instrumental masterpiece that clocks in at 9 minutes and 31 seconds long. There are no lyrics, but the music makes its own story by itself. It's called "2 Rights Make 1 Wrong" by a Scottish band called Mogwai. The track is off their album Rock Action and if you like it, it's available for purchase here. I know this style of music is probably something new for a lot of you, but trust me, it's a nice change every now and then.
